Why I Like To Read

Why I like to read? I like to read because it’s like taking a step into a whole new world. You are placed in the heart of a story in a completely different world. Not literally, but it feels like it. Every book you open is like taking the first steps of a new adventure. When I read I learn more about the environment around me, in the world, and in the universe. The main characters in the books don’t always have to go through the same everyday struggles as me, but they do struggle. I like to read a variety of books so it’s not the same plot line taking place every time.  There’s nothing I hate more than a boring book. When I read I like turning the pages and absorbing every thought the author has put down. Reading isn’t only entertainment it’s an escape from everything else that’s going in my life. The stories captivate my attention and keep me engaged throughout the book. And when I’m done reading a book I come out of it with some information I didn’t know before I started reading the book. It’s a great past time, and a little insight on someone’s life you’ve never met before. And that’s why I love reading.

  1. I like how you focus on escape, entertainment, and engagement. You do a good job of showing how each of these is a type of education and what we gain from reading.
